SULTRY is located in the Linguistics Department of the Arts Faculty of the University of Sydney.
The lab provides resources for the computational handling of human languages. That is, to allow computers to understand, summarize, index, parse, and translate text in human languages. Some of this work is theoretical, some is related to broader linguistic work in the department, and other work is completely practical: SULTRY as language technology that can be used in any situation where you want to do intelligent processing of free form text.
