LFG98

1998 INTERNATIONAL LEXICAL FUNCTIONAL GRAMMAR CONFERENCE

30 June - 2 July 1998

The University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia

Conference organizers: Christopher Manning and Jane Simpson

What's new?

3 July: The conference is now over! The bushwalk was a great success. The conference itself went really well, too, with a lot of really interesting papers being presented. So it's too late to make it to the conference. But we'll leave this site around for a while. You may still be interested in reading the papers for the Austronesian workshop. For other papers, you should wait a month and then head to CSLI Publications. However, we still have a few copies of the preliminary printed proceedings that we distributed at the conference available. If you would like to buy one, send email to lfg98@sultry.arts.usyd.edu.au. Or for the latest LFG news you might want to head to Joan Bresnan's Unofficial Links and Notes on LFG/OT.
25 June: The prefinal program has been published.
24 June: The postscript papers for the Austronesian workshop have been redone and should now print ok.
19 May: A discussion paper for the correspondences workshop
1 April: Some information about workshops.

LFG98 is a conference that contained papers within the formal architecture of Lexical-Functional Grammar and in the 'spirit of LFG' as a lexicalist approach to language within a parallel, constraint-based framework.

The Call for Papers and Registration form contains detailed information about paper submission, the venue, registration, and attendance. It is the main source of further information. The call for papers closed a long time ago, but there is still useful information in here about the transport, conference location, and registration.

The program is now available.

There is information about workshops during the conference. Some of the workshops are still looking for people to present or give commentaries.

Registration is joint with ALI/ALS. Please register in advance by completing the registration form, and sending it to the address shown at the bottom.

The conference location is Emmanuel College, Sir William McGreggor Drive, The University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus. The ALI web site has more info on getting there.

The preliminary announcement/flyer in Postscript format is pretty old.
